I am Chinese
After nearly a decade of telling people I am either Indonesian or Chinese-Indonesian, in part because when I tell people I’m Chinese they usually 1. don’t believe me 2. say I look Filipino or 3. inform me that the name “Riady” is not a Chinese last name, its Indonesian, I had this conversation with my Papa.
Jess: Usually, I just tell people I am Indonesian.
